LUNDALE, W.Va. — John Joseph Hatfield, 33, of Lundale, formerly of Sanford, N.C., went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 23, 2012, at his home.


Born March 12, 1979, at South Williamson, Ky., he was a son of Peggy Daniels Hale of Lorado and Terry Joseph Hatfield of Sydney, Ky.


Preceding him in death was his stepfather, Jack Blankenship; maternal grandparents, Roy and Eurie Slone Daniels; paternal grandfather, John Lee Hatfield; one uncle, Danny Ray Daniels, and his step-grandfather, Leo Blankenship.


John was a disabled construction worker. He was saved and baptized while living in Sanford and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his son Colin.


Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include one son, Colin Jackie Hatfield of Sanford; ex-wife, Rachael Hatfield of Sanford; one sister, Misty Dawn Hatfield of Sanford; one brother with whom he made his home, Kevin Roy Hatfield of Lundale; paternal grandmother, Joyce Dew Hatfield of Sydney; his step-grandmother, Mary Blankenship; his mother’s husband, Gordon Hale of Lorado; many aunts, uncles, and cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.


Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at the Becco United Baptist Church with Rev. P.J. Tomblin officiating. Burial will follow in Home Sweet Home Cemetery at Lorado.


Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.


Pallbearers will be Kevin Hatfield, Joe Daniels, Scott Daniels, J.J. Daniels, Charlie Daniels, and Gary Godfrey.
