Thelma Marie McCoy Craddock will be honored with a celebration for her first 100 years of life and ushering in her next 100 years.

An open house reception for Thelma will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 5, at Faith’s Baptist Temple fellowship hall at Stollings.

Thelma was born January 4, 1913, and has always lived in Southern West Virginia. Her first seven years were spent in Logan, Mingo and McDowell counties, since then, she has been a permanent resident of Logan County.

She married Moss Craddock on May 5, 1930. Moss served as a Freewill Baptist Minister from 1950 until his passing in 1993. Thelma’s active participation enriched this ministry.

Thelma’s children include Helena Craddock White, Lillian Craddock (who was stillborn), Eula Juanita Craddock Davis, Louis Moss Craddock, and Larry David Craddock. Her children have given her grandchildren that have been a rich blessing to her. In addition to these grandchildren, she has been “Granny” to many more.

Some of the places Thelma worked in the area include serving as Post Master at Pecks Mill, working at the company store in Henlawson, the Kopy Kat, and Pete’s Restaurant in Logan.

Thelma is requesting no gifts. Nonperishable food items will be welcomed and appreciated. Items will be donated to a local food bank.
