HURRICANE, W.Va. — Mrs. Juanita Adkins, 80, of Hurricane, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Teays Valley Center at Hurricane.
Born June 15, 1932, at Stowe, she was a daughter of the late Eli and Edna Staten Stepp. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Manuel Adkins; three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Adkins attended Becco United Baptist Church while living at Amherstdale and First Christian Church of Logan while living at Godby Heights. She was a Business Office Manager for Dr. Pacis and worked at Man ARH for 22 years.
Survivors include four children, Brenda Gail (Glen) Hurley of Scott Depot, Gary (Teresa) Adkins of Mallory, Sheila (Mike) Zeto of Beaver and Scott (Lisa) Adkins of Hurricane; grandchildren, Jeff Hurley, Lisa Ward, Patrick Adkins, Gary Matthew Adkins, Christina Jones, Julia Zeto, Kalee Adkins, Eli Adkins, Stacy McGhee and Brooke McGhee; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, James Stepp and Robert Stepp, both of Amherstdale, Randall Stepp of Robinette, and Sammy Stepp of Alabama, and two sisters, Ruth Martin of Louisiana, and JoAnn Curry of Amherstdale.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 14, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Rev. Rex Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
