LOGAN — A meeting to discuss the effects of poverty on children in our region will be held Wed., Jan. 23, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., at the Logan Area Public Library, 16 Wildcat Way, Logan.

Families, service organizations, faith based leaders, labor, education and business leaders are encouraged to attend.

Two goals for the meeting are to set out a plan of action for addressing some of the concerns and to plan a regional Child Poverty Forum for this spring, asking legislators to support issues that affect the regions children.

This effort is part of a statewide campaign called “Our Children, Our Future”, sponsored by the WV Healthy Kids and Families Coalition and its 126 partner organizations, including the WV Chamber of Commerce, the state AFL-CIO, the WV Council of Churches, and dozens of other legislators, community organizations, universities, and families.
