The streak is still alive.

It’s now 11 games.

The Logan Middle School girls’ basketball team ran its record to 11-0 on the season with a convincing 43-17 win at county rival Chapmanville on Friday afternoon at the Chapmanville Middle School gym.

The CMS Lady Tigers had only lost one game this season heading into the game.

Logan Middle co-captain Lexi Hines led the Lady Wolves in scoring with 15 points. Hines was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line and also pulled down four rebounds and had one steal.

LMS point guard Jamyaa Knox matched up all day with CMS star Lexi Martin, and displayed tremendous ball handling skills. Knox scored 11 points and had three steals and two blocked shots.

LMS Co-captain Sydnee Roberts chipped in with 10 points and a steal.

Tomi Nelson added seven points, a team-high six rebounds, three steals and a block for the Lady Wolves.

Steph Curry and Beth Adkins both played well defensively for Logan.

“We really came out and played well defensively,” LMS coach Carol Workman said. “Offensively I wish we would have focused on getting the ball inside as I felt like we had a big advantage there. Jamyaa did a tremendous job shutting down Martin and I thought slowing down Marcum was key. Hopefully we can build off of this heading into two tough conference matchups next week.”

Chapmanville’s scoring was unavailable.

In the JV game on Friday, Logan beat CMS 33-16.

Chelsea Napier paced LMS with 10 points, two steals and a rebound. Jazmyne Early added seven points and a game-high six rebounds. Alexis Canterbury and Jaden Oney both scored four points and combined for two rebounds and four steals.

Ally Sipple, Steph Eplin, Alexis Perry and Larra Elkins scored two points each. Eplin added four rebounds and two steals. Sipple had an assist, a steal and a rebound.

LMS returns to action Wednesday at home against Ravenswood. The JV game starts at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity contest to follow. The Logan Area All Girls League will have its players introduced at halftime. All girls are to wear their team shirt.
