The ceremony was held yesterday morning.
Hospital Chief Executive Officer Kevin Fowler addressed the crowd, telling of the hospital's success and growth over the past few years. Fowler also discussed the hospital’s plans for the future.
Fowler was assisted in cutting the ribbon by Nancy Godby, COO; Samantha Mullins, CNO; LRMC Board member Kelly Wooten-Willis; Debrina Williams, managing director of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce; Chamber of Commerce members Diana Barnette and Rev. Mike Pollard and others.
Members of the staff, including Melanie Runyon, RT, team leader and MRI technologist; April Reed, RT, MRI technologist; Merlene Mullins, RT, MRI technologist; David Neace RT, MRI technologist and Carol Rozell, GE applications specialist; were on hand to provide tours and answer visitors questions.
The new space is designed for easy patient access. In the past, patients using the MRI were escorted to a mobile unit located beside the Medical Office Building.
The new suite is conveniently located on the first floor of the main campus.
“This modern addition is the hospital's latest step in ensuring that LRMC patients have access to cutting edge technologies that improve patient care and diagnosis,” a press release from LRMC said.
