WHITMAN – A Dingess woman was injured after an altercation with her boyfriend became violent.


Kevin Thompson, 33, of Whitman, is charged with malicious wounding. If convicted, Thompson could face anywhere from one to ten years in prison.


When officers arrived at 34 Flatwoods Drive at Whitman, they found Thompson had allegedly waged a relentless attack on his girlfriend, the victim, Kala Moore.


Thompson is accused of striking Moore in the back of the head, face and ribs with both his fists and feet. Bruises were observed by the officers on the left side of the victim’s torso, there was blood inside and around the victim’s mouth, and a serious laceration on the back, left side of the victim’s head was bleeding profusely. The laceration the victim suffered was severe enough for her to be transported by emergency medical services to the Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment.


Bond has been set at $10,000.
