West Virginia State Police officers were called to the Logan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room regarding a domestic assault and battery.

An altercation allegedly involving Crystal Caldwell, 24, of Logan and her brother Clifford Caldwell, 28, of Lyburn, sent the victim Katrina Williamson to the hospital

The officer spoke to both the victim and a witness to the events. Both told officers the victim’s boyfriend, Clifford Caldwell, and his sister, Crystal Caldwell, severely beat the victim by punching and kicking her. Caldwell was transported to the Logan Regional Medical Center by the witness.

The officer noted Caldwell’s face was “grotesquely” swollen and bruised, she had bruises on her neck and back and internal injuries were probable.

Crystal Caldwell was arrested and charged with unlawful assault. Her bond was set at $3,000.

Clifford Caldwell was arrested and charged with unlawful assault and combining to inflict injury. In addition to these charges, he had the charge of unlawful killing of a dog pending. That criminal complaint says Alice Gullett provided a statement from a witness that Caldwell had shot and killed her dog. His bond was set at $3,500.

They sound like a pair of low life scum. So, both the boyfriend and his sister beat the crap out of his girlfriend, and before that, the boyfriend had killed someone's dog? These two need to be put in jail for a long time.
