NEWPORT, Tenn. — Mr. Danny “Jerry” Blevins, 63, of Newport, Tenn., formerly of Chapmanville, was born July 20, 1949, at Bills Branch, a son of the late Alpha and Fannie Messer Blevins. He departed this life Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Diana Adams and Mary Scaggs.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Brewster Blevins; children, Kandy Blevins, Danny Blevins Jr. and Anita Blevins, all of Chapmanville; brother, Larry (Gretchen) Blevins of Wilmington, N.C.; sister, Margaret (Millard) Hensley of Chapmanville; step-son, Allen (Jenifer) Calvert of Adairsville, Ga.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services prior to interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Rev. Bobby G. Belcher officiating.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Friday at the cemetery.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is serving the Blevins family in handling local arrangements.
