MADISON — A two-car collision claimed the life of a Logan man yesterday morning at Price Hill at Madison.

Jermaine Brown, 20, reportedly of Holden, died after suffering injuries in a two-car head-on collision that occurred around 8:30 a.m.

According to a report from a Boone County Emergency official, Brown was traveling northbound on State Route 85 when he collided with a southbound minivan driven by a woman, whose name was not given to The Logan Banner.

Both Brown and the other driver were entrapped in their vehicles, according to the official. Brown was extricated first and both were Healthnetted to Charleston-area hospitals.

The official said the woman’s injuries did not appear life-threatening.

Lt. John Adams of the Madison Police Department is the investigating officer. He was not available for comment this morning.

Route 85 was closed to traffic in both directions for more than an hour, the emergency official said.

Brown is a former Logan High School football player.
