Motor vehicle violations drive temporary jail inmate to additional charges

West Virginia State Police answered a call about a suspicious vehicle at the Southwestern Regional Jail.

The officers located the suspect vehicle, which was a white Ford Econoline van. They found a fraudulent motor vehicle inspection sticker inside the vehicle. A DMV query on the license plate came back as that of a Pontiac Sunfire and a fraudulent registration sticker was on the plate.

The owner of the vehicle was found to be Jason Ball, 34, of Gilbert. Ball was a temporary inmate at the jail.

He was charged with false evidences, forgery, etc., of title and registration WV 17A-9-4) and imitation or counterfeit of an official certificate of inspection (WV 17C-16-8)

Bond was set at $1,500.
