The Logan Middle School softball team improved to 7-1 on the season with Wednesday night’s 11-1 win at home over Oceana at the Logan Softball Complex.

Ashtyn Hylton was 2-for-2 at the plate to lead LMS. Alison Click and Lexi Hines were each 2-for-3.

Stefanie Curry, Kelsey Ward, Chelsea Napier and Hannah Vance added one hit each for the Lady Wolves.

Ward pitched all three innings and had two strikeouts to notch the win within the circle. The game was called due to the mercy rule.

Logan scored two runs in the first and had a seven-spot in the second as LMS batted all the way through the order. In the third Logan tacked on two more runs.

Oceana scored its only run in the first inning.

Logan also won the JV game over Oceana 7-0.

Stefanie Eplin was the winning pitcher in the JV game as she fanned five. Madyson Ooten had two inside-the-park home runs.

LMS was scheduled to play Thursday in the Chapmanville Middle School tournament. Logan then returns to Chapmanville on Saturday in tourney play.
