A joint project between the West Virginia Department of Highways (DOH) and the City of Logan is moving forward next week.

Logan Mayor Serafino Nolletti says the project has been in the process for over a year now, along with new traffic lights, and other paving projects.

Beginning Monday, paving will be taking place on Main Street up to Holland Lane, down Stratton Street, Washington Street and Jefferson Avenue.

Mayor Nolletti says the project should take four nights to complete, weather permitting.

Vehicles will need to be moved off the streets by 6 p.m. starting on Monday night and every night for the next four nights. Any vehicles on the street will be towed away at the owner’s expense.

Mayor Nolletti is excited about getting this project done, having new lines for the streets and parking spaces and getting the City of Logan banners back up.

“I am tickled to death to get these projects done, the State Office Building is scheduled to be open in the next four weeks and the clean-up, paint and paving will make a big difference. I am looking forward to a cleaner, brighter downtown Logan,” Noletti said.

The mayor says the project has been scheduled to keep the disruption to a minimum and he will appreciate everyone’s cooperation with getting the cars off the streets so the paving can be done as quickly as possible.
