CHAPMANVILLE — It’s been another successful season for the Chapmanville Regional High School tennis team as CRHS has scored wins over Lincoln County, Scott and Westside.


The Chapmanville girls’ tennis team won 7-0 over Lincoln County on April 15 at home, sweeping all seven matches with the Panthers.


No. 1 singles player Natasha Williams of CRHS won 8-0 in her match. Chapmanville’s Haley Justice (8-0), Sravya Pidaparthi (8-1) and Lasya Pidaparthi (8-1) won in singles. Williams and Justice (8-1), the Pidaparthi’s (8-1) and Megan Farley and Natalie Welty (8-1) took wins in doubles.


On the boys’ side, Lincoln County won 2-1 over the Tigers. Chapmanville’s David Cavins beat Chris Ryan 8-2 in the No. 2 singles match.


On April 13, Chapmanville hosted Huntington St. Joe and were swept 7-0, 7-0 by the Irish at the CRHS tennis courts.


Cavins played his St. Joe opponent close in the No. 2 singles match but lost 9-8 in a 9-7 tiebreaker to Jackson Reynolds.


Williams and Justice fell in a close 9-7 decision in the No. 1 doubles match.


Chapmanville split with Scott on April 11 in Madison as the boys lost 5-2 and the girls won 7-0.


The Tigers’ No. 3 singles player Colton Townsend was an 8-2 winner, while Donovan Abraham and Townsend won 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles.


On the girls’ side, the Lady Tigers won all seven matches with rival Scott. Williams (8-0), Justice (8-2), Sravya Pidaparthi (8-0) and Lasya Pidaparthi (8-0) won in singles. In doubles action, Williams and Justice (8-0), the Pidaparthi’s (8-0) and Farley and Welty (8-0) breezed to victory.


Back on April 10 at Westside, the Chapmanville tennis team rolled to 7-0, 7-0 wins over homestanding Westside.


Chapmanville’s Max Spradlin (8-0), Cavins (8-3), Townsend (8-6) and Abraham (8-0) won in singles matches. Spradlin and Cavins (8-1), Abraham and Townsend (8-5) and Dakota Saunders and Austin Evans (forfeit) won in doubles.


The Lady Tigers’ Williams (8-1), Justice (8-5), Sravya Pidaparthi (8-2) and Lasya Pidaparthi (8-0) took wins in singles action against Westside. Williams and Justice (8-1), the Pidaparthi’s (8-4) and Farley and Welty (8-2) were victorious in doubles.
