HEWETT, W.Va. — Carol Ann Henry Bias, 75, of Hewett, departed this life Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.


Born September 19, 1937, in Henlawson, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Adele Henry White. Also preceding her in death was one granddaughter, Kassis Bias; one brother-in-law, Scotty White, and grandparents, Cohen Henry and Anna Henry.


Carol Ann served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked as a secretary at Jeffrey Spencer Grade School for 33 years where she loved and cared for many children. Her compassion for children is displayed through her paintings on the walls at Jeffrey Spencer School. She was a member of the Boone County and West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees. She was of the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and, most of all, she loved her time with her husband and her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children who will cherish all the loving and dear memories forever.


Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Emory E. Bias; two daughters, Sherry Beth (John) Conley of Madison and Julie (Bill) Dees of Lake; one son, Chuck (Leah) Bias of Turtle Creek; one sister, Sandy White of Chapmanville; one brother-in-law, Charlie (Delores) Bias of Haddleton; 10 grandchildren, Michael Bias of Parkersburg, Bridgette Conley of Madison, Jennifer (Ryan) Craddock of Hewett, Johnna (Johnny Ray) Baldwin of West Virginia, Brandon Bias of Hewitt/Rio Grande, Ohio, Aaron Bias of Danville, Robbie Baldwin and Taylor (Casey) Jeffrey, both of Lake, Amelia (Jason) Farley of Whitman, and Nick (Beth) Fowler of Turtle Creek; seven great-grandchildren, Cassidy Paige Bias, Shawn Craddock, Kendall Craddock, Cohen Craddock, Adele Nichole Javins, John Baldwin and Miley Noe, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.


Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Freeman Funeral Home with Donnie Wells, Steve Robinette and Tom Bias officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memory Gardens at Madison.


Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Mike Bias, Brandon Bias, Ryan Craddock, Nick Fowler, Johnny Ray Baldwin, and Jason Farley.


Honorary pallbearer will be Robbie Baldwin.


Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
