A West Virginia State Police officer arrested Sherman Eugene Jones, 44, of Logan, and charged him with possession with intent to deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, conspiracy to commit a felony against the state and gross child neglect creating a substantial risk of serious injury.
The criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court says the officer saw the defendent leaning inside the window of a Chevrolet Trail Blazer, then put something in his back pocket. The officer stopped both the defendent and the Blazer.
The defendent consented to a search of his person. Inside his back pocket, the officer found $898 in cash and in his front pocket was a bottle filled with 168 yellow and pink pills identified as Alprazolam 0.5 mg (Schedule IV controlled subtance.
A 9mm Hi-Point pistol was located inside the defendent’s vehicle after he consented to a search of his vehicle.
There was a three-year-old child and a five-year-old child in the Blazer. Both the driver and passenger stated the defendent solicited them to purchase Xanax (Alprazolam).
His bond was set at $10,000.
