LOGAN, W.Va. — Mrs. Phyllis Jeanette Chirico, 85, of Logan, left this Earth Sunday, May 12, 2013, after a long illness. Phyllis, the daughter of the late Blanche and Jack Hager and Siebert Bias, was born June 15, 1927 in Hewett.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Jimmy Chirico; sister, Madeline (Gene) Raines and son, Frankie Ray Chirico.
In addition to her son Frankie, Phyllis raised two daughters, Grace Harris of Huntington and Blanche (Mike) Stepp of Logan. She has five grandchildren: Pax (Jean) Harris, April (Donald) Wallace, Frankie (Denise) Chirico, Josh (Audra) Chirico and Justin Chirico. Her great-grandchildren are Leo, Frank, Juniper, Abigail, Arianna and Natalie. She is also survived by a sister, Jenny (Toby) Toney of Chauncey; two brothers, Pete (Ella) Bias and Kenneth (Janet) Hager, both of Hewett, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Phyllis worked as a homemaker and as an employee at Mr. Munchie’s Bakery and Deli in FasCheck at Logan. She was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and will be missed so much.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Trinity Nursing Home in Williamson and the nurses and staff on the Fourth Floor at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Lonnie Gore officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
