Inmate faces charges of attempting to smuggle drugs into jail

During a strip search, a female officer at the Southwestern Regional Jail discovered a clear container of pills hidden on the person of an inmate. The officer informed the West Virginia State police.

Tausha Nicole Spears, 27, of Sumerco, had the hidden container filled with eight Alprazolam 1 mg. Schedule IV drug, three Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone 500 mg./7.5 mg. Schedule III drug and eleven Lorazepam 2 mg. Schedule IV drug.

Spears was charged with aiding escape and other offenses related to adults and juveniles in custody or confinement and possession with intent. Her bond was set at $10,000.
