Ky. teen arrested in Logan Co. on drug charge

A young Kentucky man was arrested in Logan County recently on a drug-related charge.

Deboris Antonio Wright, 18, of McAndrews, Ky., was arrested in Logan County by Deputy Jason L. Mathis of the Logan County Sheriff's Department for possession of a controlled substance and underage consumption on April 4.

According to police reports, Deputy Mathis was on patrol in the Holden area when he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Wright was riding for an expired MVI sticker.

"This deputy observed the defendant making suspicious movements in the rear of the vehicle," the report states.

"And, upon obtaining consent to search the vehicle, this deputy located a bottle of Heaven Hill liquor under the rear side of the passenger seat and a plastic bag containing a green leaf-like substance/roaches, under the rear seat. The defendant failed three field sobriety tests and was given a PBT, which the results were both failed. "

Wright was taken into custody and booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 10:42 p.m.

In other arrest reports:

• Darrel Keith Stevenson, 31, of Hewett, was arrested in Logan County by Deputy J.N. Sheppard of the Logan County Sheriff's Department for possession of a controlled substance, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a revoked license and DUI on April 3.

According to police reports, the deputy received a dispatch from 911 about a motor vehicle accident at Barker's Fork.

"Upon my arrival, I observed a blue 1994 Isuzu in the guardrail," the report states. "The defendant was nowhere around. Then I went to the defendant's residence. He told me that he was driving the vehicle and had left. The defendant also stated that he had taken his prescription medications. Upon further investigation, the defendant came back revoked for DUI. The defendant has conviction dates of 7-22-1999 and 5-7-2004. Upon doing a search of the defendant for my safety, I found a small bag of marijuana in his right front pocket."

Stevenson was booked the regional jail at 11:15 p.m.

• Chad David White, 35, residence not listed, was arrested in Boone County, agency not listed, for possession of a controlled substance, no insurance and defective equipment on April 2. He was booked at the regional jail at 4:55 p.m.
