McCONNELL, W.Va. — Mamie Mae Fox Smith, 95, of McConnell, went home to be with Jesus Friday, April 17, 2009, surrounded by her family.

Born August 28, 1913, in Greenbrier County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Gilbert Fox. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Roy W. Smith Sr., and two sons, Robert M. Smith and Roy W. Smith Jr.

Mamie was a member of the Micco Jesus Church.

Survivors include four daughters and three sons, Delores (James) Cole of McConnell, Linda Farmer of Camden, S.C., Mary (Richard) Roarick of Sumter, S.C., Sharon (Earl) Fowler of Stollings, Taylor (Willa) Smith of Rossmore, and Challis (Patty) Smith and Delbert (Kathy) Smith, both of McConnell; three brothers, Hobert Fox Jr., Bill Sizemore and Ray Fox; three sisters, Macie Brewster, Betty Saunders and Faye Webb; one special sister in Jesus, Mary Williams; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the Micco Jesus Church at Micco with Rev. Bill Sizemore and Rev. Robert Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6-9 Monday at James Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Franklin, Erick Smith, Greg Cole, Warren Smith, Chad Fowler and Matthew Smith.
