After the Sago and Aracoma tragedy the public presented an up roar for coal mining safety. Today, a short three years later, coal mines are having a hard time staying open.
All the politicians had something to say about coal mines, safety, and what to do with coal.
My issue is that the politicians only cared when the coal helped them and now coal is not even an important factor to them. I know that coal is very important to our area and I would just like to see more interest from all ranks of the politicians.
I think that it is a shame the way coal mines are just laying people off each and everyday. Today, you never hear from the politicians trying to save the coal industry.
