The Logan County Search and Rescue Team assisted crews looking for a lost elderly man in Kanawha County.

Dave Maynard with the Logan County Emergency Ambulance Service Authority said this morning that Logan County Emergency Services Director Roger Bryant and crew from Logan County assisted with the search for 88-year-old Ken Williamson, who was lost for two days before being found alive in Kanawha State Forest yesterday.

Reports said the Charleston man was conscious and talking.

Williamson was last seen Sunday afternoon hiking in the forest, according to a story by The Associated Press. An all-terrain vehicle rider had reportedly told authorities he saw Williamson and offered him a ride but Williamson declined.

Bryant and his crew helped with the search for Williamson, Maynard said.

“We had a crew over there,” Maynard said. “They had already come back (to Logan) when they found him. The crew stayed the evening and the night. They returned yesterday morning and they found him yesterday afternoon.”

Maynard said Bryant was the incident commander on the search and at least four Logan County emergency medical workers assisted with the search. “Anytime you have a happy ending, it’s great,” Maynard said.
