Editor,
I am a student at Man High School and I am concerned about the mining industry in today's economy.
Many different mines are laying off employee's and shutting down because environmentalist are protesting and think that it is wrong. But if all the mines get shut down, then where do we get energy to fill that large gap? Coal is one of the main energy sources in America.
I would like to see corn oil and windmills power the whole U.S., not to mention all the unemployed. This would cause even more of an economic crisis because the state would have to pay out all those unemployment checks to all the miners that were laid off.
We should continue to provide jobs and power the nation, instead of casting into darkness like the environmentalist want. That's just my opinion though and thanks for listening.
