That’s exactly what the Lady Billies did as Man (16-0) rolled to a 23-0 victory over the Lady Lions.
Man will now play Van in tonight’s sectional finals at 5 p.m., weather permitting. Van downed Gilbert in last night’s second game to eliminate the Lady Lions.
Marlena Frye tossed a no-hitter for Man in Thursday’s contest as she struck out 14 and issued no walks in five innings.
Malorie Keffer led the offensive attack for Man with a two-run homer and five RBI. Mercedes Sharp went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Tabby Johnston also had three hits for Man. Frye, Malorie Vance, Paige Stacy and Jacyln Dickerson all had one hit.
Gilbert committed seven errors in the game. Man didn’t have any.
The Lady Billies are the No. 1-ranked team in the state and the defending Class A state champions.
Man has been unstoppable this season as the Lady Billies have outscord their opponents 147-2. Only 2A Scott and 3A Logan have scored runs on the Lady Billies this sason. Man swept the season series with Logan.
