The road to Charleston begins Monday for Logan County baseball teams.

Logan, which won the Class AA state championship last season, is scheduled to open play in its new Triple-A sectional on Monday night at home against George Washington. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Logan’s Roger Gertz Field.

The Wildcats are 17-7 on the season heading into post-season play. Logan’s game on Saturday afternoon at home against Class AAA defending state champ Nitro was rained out.

Then on Tuesday, the 3A sectional continues with the South Charleston at GW game at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Logan is slated to play at South Charleston at 6:30 p.m.

The tourney final round is set to begin on Thursday. A winner-take-all final would then be played on Friday, if necessary.

Logan went 1-1 this season vs. sectional foes as the Cats won 9-4 at home over South Charleston and lost 4-2 at home to GW.

The Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team plays in a two-team 2A sectional against Scott. Chapmanville (14-12) plays at Scott on Monday, then hosts the Skyhawks on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the series would move back to Madison, if necessary.

The Man High School baseball team (13-12) host Gilbert on Monday in the first game of its Class A sectional tourney. Game 2 would then be played on Tuesday with Game 3 to follow on Wednesday, if needed.
