Beth Ann Bigley, 36, of Logan, was arrested in Logan County by West Virginia State Police Trooper L.D. Hensley for obstructing and conspiracy on May 6.
According to police reports, on Nov. 1, 2007, Bigley allegedly provided Trooper J. Kirk with a statement advising that her purse was stolen while she was shopping at Walmart.
"This purse contained keys to a vehicle belonging to the accused," the report states. "Tpr. J. Kirk, (who) was assisting in an investigation of the arson of the vehicle on this same date, discovered (the vehicle) burning just prior to receiving the aforementioned statement. On April 29, 2008, (another individual) provided this officer, along with Insurance Commission Investigator P.D. Clemmons, with a statement advising that she and (Bigley) conspired to provide a false statement to law enforcement as to the disappearance of the aforementioned vehicle, wherein (the other individual) was to take the purse from the accused, when actually the vehicle was supposedly stolen from Mud Fork on this same date."
She was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 1:30 a.m.
Stephanie Day Rhodes, 26, of Duck, was arrested in Logan County by WVSP troopers J.T. Robinson and Trooper P.A. Jones for littering, public intoxication and obstructing on May 5.
David Lee McLaughlin, 30, of Duck, was arrested in Logan County by WVSP troopers Robinson and Jones for public intoxication, obstructing an officer on May 5.
According to police reports, the troopers received a call in reference to two people drinking and littering beer cans on church property in Kitchen." The officers arrived at the Kitchen Community Church and identified Stephanie Rhodes and David McLaughlin "sitting on the porch steps of the church with a beer can in hand, a half empty case of beer and multiple beer cans laying in close proximity."
"This officer did observe the accused to have red, bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol emitting from her breath and body. The accused did ignore multiple lawful verbal commands given by this officer and would not follow instructions given,” the police report said.
McLaughlin also reportedly had bloodshot eyes and appeared intoxicated and refused to follow orders. The duo was taken into custody and booked at the regional jail at 4:30 p.m.
Police also arrested an individual who was allegedly staggering around in Stratton Street trying to get drivers to pull over to the side of the street and was almost hit by a car.
Loretta Mae Wells, 48, of Logan, was arrested in Logan by Sgt. D.A. White and Patrolman Artie Willis of the Logan Police Department for public intoxication and obstructing an officer on April 30.
She was booked at the regional jail at 10:45 p.m.
