This is Harts' second year as a runner-up.
To reach the finals CMS defeated George Washington 4-3 in a semifinal round thriller.
Sylest Napier’s two-out single in the bottom of the seventh produced the winning run.
CMS was led in hitting by Brandi Broom, Talya Berry and Sylest Napier with two hits each.
Rachel Griffith and Kristen Baisden added one hit each.
Talya Berry got the win on the mound, allowing four hits with seven walks and 16 strikeouts.
"This was a great game at any level with several clutch defensive plays and timely hits," CMS coach Tommy Kirk said.
In the finals, Harts jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings.
CMS tied the game 2-2 in the third.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth when CMS exploded for nine runs to take a commanding 11-2 lead into the top of the seventh.
Harts didn’t go quietly, scoring one run before leaving the bases loaded to end the game.
"This was a much closer game than the score indicated," Kirk said.
CMS was led in hitting by Broom, Berry, Griffith and Napier with two hits each.
Savanna Vance, Hailey Price, Lauryn Easterling and Hanna Wooten each had one hit.
Harts was led in hitting by Michele Mangus and Katrina Conley with one hit each.
Broom and Berry combined their efforts on the mound to get the win, allowing only two hits, six walks and six strikeouts.
"I am so proud of these girls, not just because we won, but for the hard work they put in to reach our goal of a conference championship," Kirk said.
