CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Gerald D. “Jerry” Barker, 56, of Chapmanville, was born November 23, 1952 at Logan. He departed this life Thursday May 28, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.

Preceding him in death was his father, Carson Barker, on July 21, 2008.

Mr. Barker was a disabled labor.

Survivors include his mother, Nancy Damron Barker of Chapmanville; special nieces, Tiffany Chafin, Janet Leann Meade and Carrie Davis; special aunts, Lois Lassen of Niles, Ohio, and Marla Blevins of Ravenna, Ohio, and one special uncle, Edward Damron of Sun City, Arizona.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Brother Johnny Meade and Brother Ted Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to services today at the funeral home.
