The estranged wife of a Logan County Deputy Sheriff was arrested again over the weekend on theft charges.

Heather Briona Pearson, 28, of Holden, was arrested by West Virginia State Police Trooper P.J. Dick for breaking and entering, grand larceny, conspiracy and giving false information to an officer.

According to police reports, on June 7, the trooper received a complaint from Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Derrick Pearson stating "that a green money bag was stolen from his vehicle."

The money was from Pearson's tanning salon, My Private Beach.

"This officer located Heather Pearson who stated she did not steal the money," the report states. "(Heather) Pearson then stated that she took $500 from his residence and threw it into the river. This officer then took a written statement from Heather Pearson who stated that she did steal the money. This officer recovered approximately $4,700 in U.S. currency (and) $500 in checks and merchandise from Walmart that was bought with the money in the vehicle Heather Pearson was traveling in."

A second police report states that on May 17, Trooper Dick received a complaint from Derrick Pearson who said that his business had been broken into and approximately $1,200 had been stolen.

"On June 7, 2009, this officer received a written statement from Heather Pearson who stated that she and (another individual) had planned to break into My Private Beach (and) had broken in and stolen the money from lottery machines."

She was taken into custody and booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 3:58 p.m. More charges may stem from the arrest, according to court sources.

In recent weeks, both Deputy Pearson and Heather Pearson have been arrested over altercations.
