A special Mother-Daughter Tea and Purse Bingo fundraiser is scheduled for mid June. Director Beth Cook got the idea from Katie Farmer.
"We are planning this event, which will be for mothers, grandmothers and daughters," Cook said. "We will have snacks and play Bingo for purses. We have been given a nice room at the College for this event which will take place on June 18 in Room 111. "
Tickets for the event are $20 for two in advance, with each ticket getting the sponsor two Bingo cards. Additional cards will be available at $10 each.
Advisory board and board of directors members are asked to stop by the center and help sell tickets. The CAC will have an informational board display at the event.
Sponsors interested in donating for purses for the event are asked to contact Ellen Browning at Ellen.M.Browning@wv.gov.
"I am back from my trip to Boston and ready to start purchasing the purses. If you are wanting me to purchase the purse for you let me know and I’ll get your money and go shopping," Browning quipped.
The Logan Child Advocacy Center has also been doing a little sprucing up by painting and planting flowers at the street level entrance, courtesy of assistance from sponsors and donors.
Roger Perry, President of the Lions Club of Logan discussed the Logan Child Advocacy Center's upcoming Bingo Purse fundraiser at a recent meeting of his club, which had agreed to donate $100 towards the decorating and planting.
Perry said the upcoming fundraiser would be a good one for the Lions and the community to support. He noted that Southern West Virginia Community Technical Center, Granny Jacks and other agencies, organizations and businesses were helping the CAC with the upcoming fundraiser. Tickets for the CAC Purse Bingo event will be available soon.
