Logan Regional Medical Center has named Tonya Crum the recipient of the 2009 Physician’s Choice Nurse Award. This award is selected by the physicians and presented to the Logan Regional Medical Center (LRMC) Nurse that consistently demonstrates significant contributions to the LRMC Mission, “…to provide the highest quality health care and exceptional customer service to all of our patients.” This award recognizes a nurse that consistently enhances the health of the community, and displays an attitude supportive of our hospital values:

Supporting our Employees, Physicians, Volunteers, and Board Members

Providing community value, understanding customer service

Improving and delivering high quality patient care

Recognizing the individual needs and concerns of our patients and their families

Improving and ensuring fiscal responsibility

Together We Will Succeed

“It is an honor when those you work with evaluate your body of work and decide that you are a recognized leader in your profession,” said Samantha Mullins, Chief Clinical Officer at Logan Regional Medical Center. “It takes a truly skilled, compassionate and hard working professional individual to stand out and be recognized for this type of an award. Tonya consistently provides outstanding care to our patients and she is very deserving of this award.”

The award was created as a suggestion of the medical staff to reward nurses who exhibit outstanding nursing skills, compassion, and continuously strive to achieve the LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. High 5 standards.

Crum has been employed as a nurse at LRMC for six years. “I became a nurse for the simple fact that I enjoy helping people and it always feels great to know you’ve made someone feel great for maybe just one day, said Crum. I cherish this award.”

Crum encourages others considering or just beginning their nursing careers. “Remember to have patience and know that you will be presented with something new everyday. Nursing is an ongoing learning experience,” said Crum.
