One person had to be flown to a Charleston area hospital after suffering severe injuries in a one-vehicle crash last night in Logan.
Jason Ball had to be flown to Charleston Area Medical Center after he was severely injured when the car he was riding in left the road and crashed through a car wash just inside the city limits on State Route 10 near Aracoma.
Logan Police Chief E.K. Harper said a white, 1996 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Paul Jenkins of Logan was travelling southbound on old Route 10 at a high rate of speed when it left the road, crossed the northbound side and hit the car wash.
“Jason Ball was airlifted and he was in critical condition,” Chief Harper said, noting that Ball’s injuries are life-threatening.
“The driver was Paul Jenkins of Coal Street and (the passengers were) Amy Selvey, who lives on Coal Street, and Ball, who is from Lake,” Harper said.
According to Harper, multiple charges are pending against Jenkins.
Patrolman Mark Dickerson and Sgt. Dave White are the investigating officers.
Jenkins and Selvey were transported by ambulance to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, Chief Harper said. No additional information was available at press time Thursday morning on their conditions.
