Born September 12, 1943, at Crawley Creek of Chapmanville, he was a son of the late Elzie and Dollie Adams Conley. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Julie Marie Conley.
Lushen attended the Truthway Assembly of God at Phico and the Family Church at Brushy. He was the owner of Conley Furniture for 39 years. Lushen enjoyed 4-wheeling and NASCAR and loved spending time with his family.
Those he left to cherish his memory include his wife, Doris Conley; one daughter, Teresa (Keith) Butcher of Chapmanville; two step-daughters, Wanda Copley (Tony Cremeans) of Branchland and Johnnie Sue (Larry) Buckner of Hamlin; two sons, Pete (Jennifer) Conley of Logan and Timothy (Amy) Conley of Godby Heights; one sister, Elsie Dingess of Niota, Tenn.; four brothers, Jim Conley of North Fork, Alfred (Mabel) Conley and Shelvy (Lula) Conley, both of Brushy Fork, and Claude (Barbara) Conley of Harrodsburg, Ky.; six grandchildren, Brandon Butcher and Ethan, Alex, Nate, Shane and Ally Conley; four step-grandchildren, Derick (Candi) and Brandon Copley, Matthew Stamper and Cory Buckner; two step-great-grandchildren, Justin and Davie Copley and the mother of his children, Willa Conley Smith of Rossmore.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Cook officiating. Burial will follow at the Conley-Adams Cemetery at Brushy Fork Road.
Pallbearers will be Chris Conley, Paul Conley, Jr. Conley, Keith Butcher, Pete Conley and Tim Conley.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
