The City of Logan's West Virginia Freedom Festival kicks into high gear today.

Yesterday, city fire department employees helped vendors hook up electricity to their caravans and equipment to prepare for the fun which starts this afternoon in downtown Logan.

The event will run Thursday through Saturday in downtown Logan with food, attractions, shows and more.

The festival got off to its official start on Saturday when the new queen and her court were crowned at the Coalfield Jamboree during the Miss WV Freedom Festival, held in memory of the late Tom Rose Tomblin.
