The prayer breakfast was hosted by the men of the church where Bill McDonald is the Pastor.
William Carrere, moderator of the event, welcomed everyone to the monthly meeting and called on Larry Roark to lead the opening prayer.
The devotional program was presented by Carrere and was entitled “Don't Worry Be Happy.” Based on the Book of Luke, Chapter 12, Verses 21– 31, the devotion was a parable Jesus gave to his disciples in which a rich man was blessed with the abundance that the ground yielded and was plenty. But his greed set in, instead of sharing he built more store houses and kept everything for himself and said that he would not have to worry; he could eat, drink and be merry. Then God told him, “You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you” and the man died leaving all of the thing that he had stored up. We must learn to trust in God. It is good to look to your future and provide for it, but not at the expense of others. The song “Don't Worry Be Happy” was as a hit several years ago. The teachings in Luke addresses the Don't Worry by reminding us that God takes care of the lilies of the fields and how much more will God take care of us if we have faith. And not to worry needlessly over food and clothing that there are more important things to life than how we look and eating fine foods. That we should have faith in God and help others.
After the devotion there was a discussion and prayer requests were taken follow by prayer and testimonials by some of the attendees. The closing prayer was given by Pastor Norman Howey.
There where 23 men in attendance for the prayer breakfast and two new churches were represented, Central Baptist Church by Danny White and Logan Nazarene by Don Frye. Logan County Christian Men's Fellowship and Prayer Breakfast encourages any and all churches to be a part of their fellowship. Praying men make a difference.
