CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Humanities Council announces its upcoming August 1, 2009, minigrant deadline. Minigrants are awarded every 60 days for projects requesting up to $1,500. The deadlines are August 1, October 1, December 1, February 1, April 1, and June 1.

Humanities Council minigrants support small projects, single events, lectures, museum exhibits and brochures, consultation needs, and planning for more complex projects. Nonprofit organizations are eligible. The Humanities Council encourages proposals from colleges, schools, libraries, historical societies, parks, convention and visitors bureaus, historic sites, museums, civic and service organizations, cultural groups, and local government agencies.

For more information or to request an application, contact grants administrator Amy Saunders at (304) 346-8500 or via email at saunders@wvhumanities.org. Guidelines and applications are available on the Council’s website at www.wvhumanities.org.
