CHARLESTON (AP) — West Virginia has released the names of three people injured when a freight train derailed and knocked down a building at a coal preparation plant.

State mine office spokeswoman Jama (Jay-muh) Jarrett on Wednesday identified the injured as Norfolk Southern worker R.A. Saunders and Black Bear Preparation Plant workers Billy Newsome and Eugene Harris.

Jarrett says Saunders and Newsome were released after Tuesday’s accident in Mingo County. She says Harris remains hospitalized.

Earlier reports had listed four injured but Jarrett said the state is only aware of three. They were hurt when five rail cars derailed, knocking down a loading facility and smashing a building. The plant is operated by a subsidiary of Abingdon, Va.-based Alpha Natural Resources.
