The Billies, 8-4 last year and Class A state quarterfinalist, opens the season on Friday at home against county rival Logan.
Logan and Chapmanville were unranked in the Class AAA and 2A polls, although the Tigers did register 11th as CRHS was in the “other receiving votes” category.
Defending Class A state champion Williamstown was first, while Wheeling Central was second, Madonna third, Fayetteville fourth and Moorefield fifth.
Man was sixth, Pocahontas County and Parkersburg Catholic were tied for seventh, St. Marys was ninth and Matewan 10th.
Man plays Fayetteville, St. Marys and Matewan this season.
Tucker County, Calhoun County, Iaeger, Mount Hope, Clay-Battelle, East Hardy, Gilbert, Buffalo, Valley Wetzel, Big Creek, Bishop Donahue and Cameron also received votes.
In the Class AAA poll, defending state champ South Charleston was first.
The Black Eagles were followed by George Washington, Morgantown, Martinsburg, Bridgeport, Capital, Parkersburg, Parkersburg South, University and Wheeling Park. Cabell Midland, Spring Valley, Fairmont, Riverside, Hurricane, Lewis County, Huntington, Musselman and Nicholas County also garnered votes.
In the Class AA poll, Magnolia was first, Wayne second, defending state champ Grafton third, Bluefield fourth and Ravenswood fifth. Keyser was sixth, James Monroe seventh, Oak Glen eighth, Frankfort ninth and Point Pleasant 10th. Chapmanville had the most points in the “others receiving votes” category.
The Tigers were followed by Weir, Scott, Philip Barbour, Webster County, Poca, Berkeley Springs, Wyoming East, Independence and Sherman.
Chapmanville opens the season on Friday night at home against Sissonville.
