Lady Tigers win county tri-match

It was a successful debut for Angie Willis.

Willis, the new Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ volleyball team, led the Lady Tigers to the county tri-match title in Thursday night’s opener at Logan’s Willie Akers Arena.

Chapmanville was 2-0 in the tri-match, beating Man 22-25, 25-23, 25-19 and then knocking off host Logan 16-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Logan was 1-1 in the tri-match as the Lady Cats also beat Man 25-20, 22-25, 25-21.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to return to action next Tuesday at home against host Sherman and Burch in a tri-match. Chapmanville then goes to Point Pleasant next Thursday.

Logan goes to Lincoln County next Tuesday and then to Tug Valley next Thursday.

The Lady Billies have their home opener next Tuesday against Buffalo and Wyoming East.

Man then has a tri-match on Wednesday at Poca.
