Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest H. Long, and a grandson, Rusty Long.
Mr. and Mrs. Long moved from Logan to Durham on January 1, 1962, and opened DeHaven’s Transfer and Storage Inc. She was a member of Braggtown Baptist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class and was a member of the choir.
Survivors include five children, Carolyn (Ray) Gaskins of Fayetteville, N.C., David (Barbara) Long and Robert (Mary) Long, both of Durham, Bruce (Kathy) Long of Greensboro, N.C., and Patty Long, at home; grandchildren, Raymond, Nicole and Ernest Gaskins of Fayetteville, Matthew Long of Greensboro, Jay, Stephanie, and Ryan Long and Robert Jr., Ernest, Karly, Virginia, Richard, Amanda and Courtney Long, all of Durham, and a brother, Raymond DeHaven of Roanoke, Va.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 13, at Braggtown Baptist Church by Pastor Wayne Wright and Pastor Chris Teseniar. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Robert and Mary Long, 3728 Medford Rd., Durham, NC 27705.
