Lady Tigers fall in home tri-match

CHAPMANVILLE – The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ volleyball team fell in a home tri-match on Tuesday at the CRHS gym.

The Lady Tigers dropped to 7-4 on the season with the pair of defeats.

Chapmanville fell 25-15, 25-13 to Wyoming East in the first match, then lost to Wayne in the finale.

Wayne also downed Wyoming East, 16-25, 25-20, 25-17 to win the tri-match.

The Wayne Lady Pioneers are a traditional Class AA regional powerhouse. Wyoming East is coached by former Man High School mentor Bill Toler.

The Lady Tigers, led by first-year coach Angie Willis, are scheduled to return to action on Thursday at Tug Valley. The first serve is set for 6 p.m. at the TVHS gym in Naugatuck.

n Logan’s volleyball team lost 3-0 at home to Westside on Monday. The Lady Cats have a 2-6-1 record and host Burch tonight at 6 p.m. Logan tied Big Creek, 1-1, and beat Mount View, 2-0, last Saturday in a tri-match at Westside.
