Sherman got the easy win in the first set, 25-8, and Tug battled in the second and third sets, losing 25-22 and 25-20.
Tug Valley Coach Vonda Preston said her girls are playing a little better, despite the loss.
“I think they’re doing better,” she said. “They’re easing up on the tension and the nervousness and I think they’ll be come out of it before the season is over.”
Sherman Coach Terri Williams said Madison Bowman played well for the Lady Tide.
“We played really good,” Williams said. “We finally got some hits and kills down. Madison Bowman had 19 kills. That helped tremendously and we’re starting to play together as a team. I thought we did good, overall.”
Williams said Crystal Halstead had 19 assists and 10 digs.
The Lady Tide improves to 7-10 with the win and will play at home Tuesday hosting Buffalo and Teays Valley Christian in a tri-match.
Tug Valley returns to action Thursday night at Williamson.
