Born November 5, 1932, in Ethel, he was a son of the late Carlos and Roma Jeffrey. Also preceding him in death were his spouses, Virginia and Margie Jeffrey, and brothers, Ralph and Douglas Jeffrey.
James was retired from the U.S. Army as Seargent after 22 and one-half years of service and 20 years on the Capitol Police Force.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Gary (Joann), Ricky, Marsha and Jan (Stacy); nine grandchildren; sisters, Nola Kinser of Chapmanville, and Betty (Ted) Short and Marcella Shoaf, both of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
