Local police arrested another repeat offender this weekend on violence-related charges.
Jody Dale Hall, 38, of Logan, was arrested in Logan County by Logan Police officers J.L. Sheppard and Aaron Newsome for assault and battery on an officer on Oct. 11.
According to police reports, the officers responded to a call from Dingess Street in regards to a possible physical altercation involving Hall and a male juvenile.
"When arriving on scene, the juvenile stated that Mr. Hall did enter 543 Dingess Street and threatened to cause him physical harm," the report states. "The victim also stated that Mr. Hall stated that he had a knife and would kill him.
When the officers went to the residence, Hall allegedly elbowed one officer in the stomach and yelled loudly “in a belligerent and aggressive manor” when the officers attempted to frisk him for weapons.
An altergation ensued, according to the police report, and an officer reportedly knocked Hall to the ground where he continued to resist and continued to attempt to strike this officer.”
After the brief altercation, this officer gained control of Mr. Hall and placed him in handcuffs.
He was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 7:40 p.m.
Hall is no stranger to law enforcement. Hall is listed on the West Virginia Sex Offender Registry.
He was convicted on June 13, 2001, for sexual battery by a authority figure and attempted sexual battery by an authority figure in the state of Tennessee and he served seven and a half years in a correctional facility.
According to the registry, the victims were two female aquantences between the ages of 0 and 5 and 6 to 12.
Hall was also arrested by West Virginia State Police Trooper J.E. Williams of the West Virginia State Police for malicious wounding, domestic battery and domestic assault on Dec. 23 2008.
Hall was also arrested by West Virginia State Police Trooper Les Goldie for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance on April 21, 2008.
