Arnoldo Avitia Gamboa of Mexico was sentenced to life in prison in federal court after being convicted by a jury in June of being the supplier for multiple drug dealers in Mingo County and nearby parts of Kentucky.
Several convicted drug dealers said that Gamboa provided them with bricks of cocaine that bore stamps pressed into the blocks to indicate their purity.
Chief U.S. District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin sentenced Gamboa earlier this week. Gamboa had three previous drug convictions and another for illegally re-entering the country after having been deported.
