Several area high schools held homecoming festivities Friday, October 16, that included parades, football games and homecoming queens. Destinee Vance was crowned 2009 Chapmanville Regional High School homecoming queen during halftime ceremonies held at the Chapmanville Regional and Tug Valley game. Chapmanville won, 47-0. Chloe Blankenship was crowned the 2009 Matewan High School Homecoming Queen during halftime ceremonies of the Burch at Matewan game. Matewan beat Burch 20-8. Caitlin Drakos was crowned 2009 Logan High School homecoming queen during ceremonies held at halftime at the Logan High and Herbert Hoover. Herbert Hoover won 22-0.
