• Marcus Anthony Canada, 30, of Columbus, Ohio, was arrested in Logan County by members of the U.S. 119 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force on November 5 for conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.
According to police reports, on Nov. 5, Marcus Canada allegedly conspired with Michael Campbell to deliver crack cocaine from his residence in Whitman and police made two undercover buys from Campbell's home.
"This officer obtained a search warrant for (the) residence and was conducting surveillance on same," the report states. "This officer observed the accused standing in the front yard of Campbell's residence." When he left, officers pulled him over on U.S. (Route) 119 and he "could not produce a valid driver's license."
When taken into custody with Campbell he "stated that the accused came to his residence and sold crack cocaine. Furthermore Jason England was found to be in possession of the buy money used during the controlled purchases. England was advised of his rights and stated that he and the accused were together."
Canada was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 7 p.m.
Also arrested in regards to the incident were:
•Michael Darren Campbell, 48, of Whitman, was arrested by the Task Force on Nov. 5 for conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. He was booked at the regional jail at 7 p.m. His criminal complaint states that Campbell "conspired with other individuals and allowed the same individuals to use his residence for the purpose of distribution of crack cocaine."
• Jason Timothy England, 27 of Columbus, was arrested by the Task Force on Nov. 5 for conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. He was booked at the regional jail at 7 p.m. His criminal complaint states that during a search for contraband at the traffic stop the officers "found the buy money used n the controlled purchases" and that Campbell said England "came to his residence and sold crack cocaine."
• Arthur Scott King, also known as Skyhawk, 48, of Lake, was arrested in Logan County and Boone County by West Virginia State Police Trooper C.R. Holbert for three counts of distribution of a controlled substance on Oct. 28. According to police reports Kind "did on three separate occasions deliver a controlled substance, to wit: cocaine, during the month of July."
He was booked at the regional jail at 6:05 p.m.
• Paul David Compton, 30, of Pecks Mill, was arrested in Logan County by Patrolman J.L. Sheppard of the Logan Police Department for possession with intent to deliver on Oct. 16. According to police reports on Aug. 15, Sheppard and Patrolman R. Adkins responded to a two vehicle car wreck on Logan Boulevard, where they detected the odor of marijuana from within one vehicle and searched it with other officers.
"Trooper Robinson found a slip lock bag with several medicine bottles and a green leafy substance," the report states, adding that "Compton stated the marijuana was his." The medicine bottles belonged to another individual and contained xanax, vicodin and loratab.
He was booked at the regional jail at 5:45 p.m.
