A Logan County Deputy has been arrested again on a domestic violence charge.
Logan County Deputy Derrick Pearson was arrested Tuesday night by the West Virginia State Police for domestic battery upon his estranged wife, Heather Pearson, who was also arrested on the same charge.
Police responded to a call to Pearson's business, My Private Beach in Holden, about an altercation between the two.
The complaint said Pearson said officers responded to My Private Beach in Holden in response to a domestic situation. Heather Pearson reportedly told officers that Derrick Pearson had grabbed her and threw her to the ground, causing her to suffer abrasions to her leg. The officers did observe the abrasions to her leg.
According to Derrick Pearson's complaint, officers responded to My Private Beach in response to a domestic situation and Derrick Pearson said his wife grabbed him by the shirt, causing it to rip and scratched his chest. The report said the officers saw the scratches and arrested Heather Pearson.
The arresting officers are WVSP Sgt. J.B. Frye, Cpl. R.L. Frye and Trooper P.A. Jones.
This is the second time Pearson has been arrested in the last six months. In May, Dep. Pearson was arrested and charged with domestic assault and also domestic battery. He was bonded out early Wednesday morning, according to reports, while Heather Pearson remained in jail yesterday.
Derrick Pearson is currently on paid leave from the Logan County Sheriff's Department awaiting an early December trial on the first two charges from May.
