MAN — A local man was arrested twice in three weeks time by area police who have reportedly had problems with him for some time.

Kevin Shane "Shaney" Mangus, 35, of Man, was arrested in Man by Sgt. W.D. "Dave" Walls of the Man Police Department for petit larceny, fleeing on foot, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer on Nov. 13.

Mangus was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 13. It wasn’t his first trip to jail. Less than a month earlier, Mangus was arrested and jailed on another theft charge.

On Oct. 24, Mangus was arrested by Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy M.B. Carter for transferring and receiving stolen property. He was booked at the regional jail at 6:50 p.m.

Sgt. Walls said that prior to the October arrest, he had been on the lookout for Mangus.

"He has turned into a one-man crime wave," Walls said on Oct. 24. Earlier Wall said he was already looking for Mangus in regards to a theft incident.

According to police reports, on Oct. 21, Mangus allegedly entered the 7-11 store in Man and took one bottle of Grey Goose Vodka .750 and one bottle of Jagermeister 1.75 and hid them in his pants and exited the store without paying.

The incident was reportedly captured on the store's video surveillance system.

Deputy Carter arrested Mangus on a warrant from an earlier incident. According to that police report, in May 2009, Mangus allegedly sold a Barnett crossbow and accessories to a cooperating individual for $75. The crossbow was worth $1,500 and was stolen from a garage in the Huff Creek area.
