That domination continued on Tuesday as the Rebels breezed to a 73-28 victory over Logan in the season opener for both schools at the Tolsia High School gym in Glenhayes.
The Rebels jumped out to a 29-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
Tolsia led 44-11 at the half and 62-24 after three. The Rebels then outscored Logan 11-4 in the fourth quarter to set the final score.
Erica Kelly had 13 points to lead the Lady Cats. Jessica Bias had six and Brianna Johnson four.
“We just didn’t play that well,” Logan coach Tim Cunningham said.
Logan, 4-18 last year, dropped two games to Tolsia last season and have lost eight in a row to the Rebels.
LHS plays at Winfield on Thursday night, then goes to play at Man on Monday in a 1 p.m. tip. The Lady Cats go to Westside on Dec. 17 and have their home opener Dec. 19 against Wayne.
n The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team was scheduled to open the season on Tuesday night at Herbert Hoover but no score or statistics were called into the Logan Banner as of 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
The Lady Tigers play at Poca on Thursday night.
